You Do You is an investigation into new ways of living.
Inspired by the death of his father, the ongoing illness of his mother, and the car-crusher insanity of recent global events, Specular-D found himself in need of better ways of thinking in order to navigate his way through the universe.

You Do You is a refinement of the resampled sound-design collage experiments heard on Mandala EP. Drenched in lush, tonal melodies which twist and shift around breakneck drum patterns, this is footwork at its most cerebral, blending the energy of an all-night club sesh with the chill vibes of a lazy afternoon in the warm summer sunshine.

Part diary, part case files; full of scribbled post-it notes and hazy beer-mat reminders on how to think better. Samples from YouTube, News broadcasts, and cult anime sit alongside personal WhatsApp audio messages and local field recordings, all of which lead us on a meandering journey through both the external and internal worlds of Specular-D as he comes to terms with his own existence.
